Laurie Simmons is an American artist who has had a long and distinguished career. She began her artistic practice in the 1970s and is well known for her photographic works, which often explore the concept of staged environments. Simmons’ work has been exhibited at major institutions around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Guggenheim Museum. She has also collaborated with other renowned artist, musicians, and fashion designers. Her work has been featured in numerous publications, and she is currently represented by Salon 94, a leading contemporary art gallery based in New York City. Simmons has also taught extensively at various universities around the United States and abroad. She continues to produce new works that explore ideas of identity and familiarity through photography and other media.
